Kids' haircuts require more than skill with clippers. They require patience, a calm demeanor, and the ability to work with a moving target. A child who is nervous, fidgety, or just plain bored can make a haircut genuinely difficult — and the result shows.

At Rocky's Primetime, our barbers have been cutting kids' hair in Atlanta for years. They know how to ease a first-time client into the chair, how to keep things moving quickly enough to hold a child's attention, and how to handle a squirming toddler without sacrificing the quality of the cut.

We also know how to talk to parents. If you have a reference photo, bring it. If your child has preferences about the length or style, tell us. The more information we have, the faster and more accurate the cut will be.

Standard kids' cut (12 & under) — our primary youth service. Includes a clipper cut, scissor work, and edge cleanup. Styled to the parent's or child's preference.

Kids' fade — a full fade for kids who want the same style as their older brothers or fathers. Our most popular kids' request in 2025.

First haircut — for toddlers and young children getting their first professional cut. We take it slow, make it comfortable, and deliver a clean result. A memorable first experience.

A reference photo goes a long way. Kids often struggle to articulate what they want, but pointing at a picture makes the communication instant and accurate. Pull one up on your phone before the appointment.

If your child has had bad experiences at barbershops before — anxiety, discomfort, a bad cut — let your barber know when you book or when you arrive. They'll adjust their approach accordingly. Our barbers are good at reading the room.

For very young children, bringing a small distraction (a tablet, a favorite toy, or a snack) can help keep them still during the cut. A calm kid makes for a better cut.
